Rake Shot:

The frame holds the subject's or object's positioned in a row. The camera angle is from either screen right or screen left and holds the line of profiles, shooting past the character or object closest to the camera.

Release Letter:

A written dismissal of a talent agent, as required by unions.

Ramping Up/Down:

The term used to indicate increasing or decreasing the camera's speed (frame rate) and automatically compensating for the exposure change while the camera is running. This effect is attained via a laptop computer wired to the camera, and controlled by the Camera 1st Assistant. See Overcrank; Undercrank.Ratings

Rerun:

Rebroadcast of a TV program: in commercials, often called "reuse."

Raw Stock:

Film that has not been exposed.

Residual:

The fee paid to a performer for rebroadcast of a commercial, film or TV program.

Regional Commercial:

Produced for airing only in certain areas of the USA.

Resume:

A list of credits, often attached to an 8"x10" or composite.

Release:

In Commercials; Termination of use of a contract.

Retake:

A take that has been done over -- reshot -- to correct some mistake or problem discovered after the film was processed at the laboratory.
